Forge is now OpalSpan, and Whisper is now Mech. The demonstration below shows the current OpalSpan/Mech interface.
An unfamiliar error interrupts a support job. Ask Mech to check the vendor’s current public guidance from the conversation you already have open. Its answer can include source links, giving you a route back to the original advice while you decide what to investigate.
Source
Current shared Mech UI, generated 13 October 2026 with a supplied Microsoft reference and scripted guidance. No new research, model call or device inspection. Public guidance remains separate from verified device findings. Generation provenance.
Earlier published recordings: desktop · phone. Historical versions: desktop · phone.
An answer with a source you can open
The example asks about a Windows update error. The illustrated answer links to Microsoft’s Windows Update troubleshooting page as a starting point. That is general guidance: the recording does not establish a diagnosis or a fix for that particular error.
The useful handoff is the source itself. Open it, check which guidance applies to the Windows version and symptoms in front of you, then bring the relevant question back to Mech. The reference stays in the conversation alongside your follow-up.
Combine reference material with device findings
Public guidance helps explain what to look for. Checks on the connected machine show what is actually happening. You can use both in the same support conversation, then ask Mech to carry out the next piece of work within the scope you have set.
Try a vendor question from your next case. Ask Mech for the current guidance and its source, then follow the link before deciding how to use it.
